Job Title: Business Development and Account Manager – Geotechnical & Civil EngineeringIndustry Sector: Retaining Walls, Soil Reinforced Slopes, Ground Stabilisation, Civil Engineer Contractors and Main Civil Contractors, Highways, Geotextile, Geosynthetics, Consulting Engineers, Local Authorities and Highways Maintenance Contractors

Area to be covered: England & Wales – ideally based North

Remuneration: £42,500-£47,500 Neg. + 10% bonus (performance related)

Benefits: Fully expensed Car or £600 Car Allowance + full benefits packageThe role of the Business Development and Account Manager – Geotechnical & Civil Engineering will involve:

• Field based technical role, responsible for providing technical support, technical advice, project management, and quotations to clients who are looking to utilize a wide range of geotechnical products
• Client relationship position, managing construction services team and tendering enquiries (lots of enquiries which you will be responsible for assessing)
• Apportioning projects out to sales, estimating and engineering teams
• Responsible for typically 18-20 enquiries per month and approx. 35-40 projects that actually get started per year
• Project sizes from £15,000-£800,000 (lots of repeat business)
• Contributing towards England and Wales revenue of approx. £4.5m
• Building and maintaining relationships/ acting as focal point/ middle person with commercial and residential customers
• 60% of your time managing commercial projects such as retail parks and large “shed” builds with main contractors
• 40% managing relationships with housebuilders and groundworks on residential projects
• Inheriting a role that has been manned successfully, hence you will walk into many warm relationships

The ideal applicant will be a Business Development and Account Manager – Geotechnical & Civil Engineering experience with:

• Proven track record in construction field sales
• Working knowledge of UK construction contracts, warranties and regulations
• Familiar with geotechnical construction works
• Ideally managed relationships with main contractors, housebuilders, groundworkers or civil engineers
• Ideally BCc/ Eeng in Civil Engineering/ Geotechnical field
• IT literate/ comfortable with CRM reporting
• Open to non sales background with geotechnical contractors or civil engineering contractors or consultants looking for a more commercially led role
• Ideally with a technical/ commercial mix
• Construction site experience
• Team player
• Knowledge of geotechnical products is not required as full product training will be given
• An understanding of civil engineering proposals and designs
• Practical experience in designing with geosynthetics
