This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join a rapidly growing company which offers excellent earning potential. If you are happy to work on site and away from home this is the role for you. The company in question work nationwide with organisations like Northumbria Water, Anglian Water and United Utilities. Our client are expanding their team due to a rapidly increasing order book.THE ROLEHave knowledge of the most economical and effective layout of installations together with the ability to achieve a high level of productivity in the work which you control.Set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary installation materials in a timely manner in order to progress work.Work to programmes for production.Plan, assign and schedule the work of electrical installation team.Ensure work outside the scope is reported to management as a change and agreed accordingly.Accept responsibility for the proper completion of contracts.Co-ordinate with clients and site personnelManage and support site labour and understand their needs for training and development.Advise senior management of any training requirements that may become necessary.Keep senior management informed of the levels of Health & Safety which may affect company personnel both on and off site.Maintain records and reports to enable the Engineer to comply with management reports.Conduct periodic inspections and gives on-site supervision over hazardous or unusual work assignments.Ensure installation records are kept up to date.Make requests for labour in time to match programme progress.Enforces safety regulations, rules and working conditions.Undertaking commissioning duties as and when requiredBe aware of the company Health & Safety regulations for working on sites.Undertake training as compliant with the Company training matrix.Carry out method statements/risk assessments for submission as company procedures.Comply with management procedures as and when issued Any other reasonable unreferenced duties that may arise which are in line with the level of skill requirement.Have a good knowledge of the NICIEC regulations and able to complete the relevant paperwork for certification.THE PERSONCity and Guilds th EditionCity and Guilds 2391 or aboveNVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or approved equivalent5 years’ experience as an approved Electrician including 3 consecutive years electrical installation work supervisory experience.Conversant with prescribed guidance material and Electricity at Work RegulationsAbility to supervise the work of skilled workers.Skills in communicating and co-ordinating trainees, clients and sub-contractorsAbility to solve practical problemsKnowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulationsKnowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric systemsProficiency in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and componentsAbility to interpret work from instructions, sketches and CAD drawings.Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions at workAbility to construct MS/RA for engineersTHE PACKAGEDepending on what band you qualify for the hourly rates are;Workshop rate – £17.15 to £18.70Site rate – £17.38 to £18.87Working away – £18.60 to £20.3025 days holiday + bank holidaysWorkshop hours Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm / Friday 8am – 2pmOvertime is paid at time & half & double timeThis is a permanent position once a 12-week probation period has been completedTO APPLYPlease apply for this position and your CV will go direct to our Engineering Consultant Neil Douthwaite who is leading the search.
