THE COMPANY:

Opportunity for an enthusiastic Construction or Engineering graduate to join a construction company as a Graduate Estimator. Our client specialise in the design and installation of temperature and environment-controlled projects e.g. insulated roofing/cladding, and fire compartment walls.

THE ROLE:

As part of the estimating team, the Graduate Estimator will ensure tenders are complied, and cost plans are formed and returned in line with the specification. The role will be office-based in Tewkesbury, with occasional travel to customer & site locations.

• Building and maintaining new and existing customer relationships.
• Produce lists and order ancillary materials for specific jobs within agreed timescales.
• Liaise with construction site manager and client project manager to establish process of work.
• Liaise with customers to discuss their requirements and ensure submission dates are met.
• Visit customer sites and survey when required.
• Always adhere to all Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
• Update skills and knowledge necessary to effectively carry out role as required by the company.
• Assist in the production of tenders and bills of quantities from customer information.
• Chase progress and update suppliers and customers on status of tenders.
• Liaise with suppliers for best price.
• Efficiently store and archive quotes.
• Produce marked up drawings to clarify scope of works to be submitted with tenders.

YOU:

• Degree educated in a Construction or Engineering related subject.
• Competent IT skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• AutoCAD and SketchUp experience would be beneficial
• Excellent attention to detail and good understanding of working drawings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Interest in new product development & learning on the job
• Ability to work under pressure as part of a team and individually
• Flexible to travel to locations in the UK with the occasional overnight stay
• Practical applicator and use of initiative
• Valid UK Driving Licence is desirable
