SALARY: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum + Benefits

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Officer / HSEQ Advisor who has previous experience of working in an HSE role and has a NEBOSH General Certificate.

Working as a Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Officer / HSEQ Advisor you will ensure the Company and its subcontractors comply with the requirements of legislation, policies and procedures by monitoring HSEQ compliance, attend meetings and report at HSEQ and being responsible for the provision of health and safety related training.

As a Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Officer / HSEQ Advisor you will ensure that the Company takes all reasonable measures to provide a safe working place for its employees, sub-contractors and visitors the general public.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Officer / HSEQ Advisor

• Develop a strong working relationship with all levels of employees and promote a culture of engagement

• Ensure that all HSEQ policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated

• To ensure that the day to day running of the HSEQ function is conducted in an efficient and effective manner and in line with the requirements including organising and conducting internal audits to ensure that non conformances are timely corrected

• Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting

• Ensure full and accurate HSEQ and training records are maintained

• Establish a full programme of documented HSEQ inspections, audits and checks

• Provide regular reports to the HSEQ Manager on relevant HSEQ activities

• Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all the activities

• Ensure that all incidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented to prevent reoccurrence

• Support production of construction phase plans, RAMS and associated construction-related risk management documentation

• Identify any operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate and provide competent advice and recommendations

• Conduct pre-implementation risk assessments on new sites, if and when, required and identify risk mitigation measures in conjunction with project teams

• Assist in developing all the required documentation, operational checks and reports for the HSEQ IMS Management to be compliant with ISOs 9001/45001/14001

• Support the delivery of HSEQ inductions and TBTs periodically in accordance with the program

• Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in an emergency

• Assist in development and implementing of emergency response procedures and evacuation plans on site and offices.

• Ensure that the emergency plans are communicated to staff and visitors and update registers on training and inductions

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

• Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate

• Previous experience of working in a previous HSE role

• Exposure to and understanding of the implementation of ISO 9001 / 14001 and 45001

• Experience within the construction or utilities industry would be advantageous

• Have good persuasion skills

• Excellent report writing skills

• Organisational, time management and prioritisation awareness

• Digital fluency and cyber security literacy

• A full clean driving license

• Able to work under pressure and deliver results to a defined deadline

• Can-do attitude, self-motivated, with good team working skills

• Flexible with good attention to detail

• Good communication skills
