LWS Services are proud to be the chosen recruitment partner for a nationwide recycling plant hire company, who hire and sell quality machinery from a range of world-renowned OEM brands. Due to ongoing expansion there’s now an exciting opportunity for an experienced Machine Inspector to join their dynamic engineering team in Knutsford.

Role

Due to expansion, there is now a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Machine Inspector from the heavy plant industry to join our current Machine Inspector ensuring the constant quality of the hire and sales fleet on return from hire or prior to customer delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect units coming back from hire for damage, operational and safety issues.
• Inspect new units coming into the workshop or sales stock.
• Write reports for highlighting any remedial works required pre hire or sale, including those that should be covered under warranty.
• Assess what parts will be required and work with parts department to have these ready.
• Help the Workshop Foreman to schedule in works with the Workshop Team.
• Carry out pre delivery inspections (PDIs) on all hire and sales units.
• Ensure any issues are rectified pre delivery and schedule in any other works required for the future.
• Keep all appropriate team members up to date with any issues.
• Must be able to drop back to some ‘hands’ on mechanical jobs where workload dictates.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

• Working hands on knowledge / experience of heavy plant such as trommels, crushers, shredders, excavators, loading shovels within the recycling, agricultural or construction industries. Etc
• Current mechanical skills (may suit someone wanting to step back from hands on mechanical work).
• Good understanding of attention to detail and quality.
• Able to record details either handwritten or electronic.
• Work to set timescales.
• IT literate.

Full Package details:

Salary: £34,000 Basic on a 42.5hr week . Core hours are 7.30am to 4.30pm, however there may be a degree of flexibility in this role.
