Production Controller

A global manufacturer of rail infrastructure products supplying to OEMs, government contracts and construction is now seeking a Production Controller to join their Nottingham team.

As the Production Controller will be responsible for ensuring production activities meet delivery timescales and quality standards by utilising machine and staffing levels.

As the Production Controller you will:

• Manage production jobs releases with associated work packs for the production teams.
• Schedule production resource in line with order requirements.
• Maintain and manage MRP data associated with the production function.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost saving improvements and liaise cross functionally as required to embed changes.
• Familiarise, review, and manage the production function in accordance with company practices and procedures.
• Update Management on any material shortages, resource delays and any variances.
• Manage and maintain MRP data regarding the production function to guarantee business data integrity.
• Ensure you and your team work safely and comply with all current and relevant health and safety / environmental legislation.
• Ensure any near misses, incidents or accidents to yourself and any of your team are reported promptly.
• Participate in the Continuous Improvement workshops and process reviews.

Experience and skills required as the Production Controller:

• Experience in a Production Planner/ Production Controller role
• Bachelors Degree/ HND/ HNC in Production, Engineering, Supply Chain or Business related discipline
• Strong numerical and data analysis skills
• Experience of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Good Communicator who can work well in a team.
