The Opportunity

Our Client is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Director who will be responsible for generating project opportunities and developing and pursuing sales leads along with project pipelines through the sales and technical team.

The role requires an individual with a proven track record in consultative and project-based selling along with strong leadership and people-management skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to: Managing Director

Your main duties and responsibilities include:

• Manage and oversee the sales + technical operations
• Ownership of meeting annual sales and financial targets
• Design and implement strategic sales plans
• Expand the customer database
• Develop the product range certification profile
• Understand and respond to market trends
• Build strong partner relationships
• Exceed revenue growth and profit projections
• Responsible for designing plans to meet targets and evaluating costs for selling products and systems
• Manage incoming technical and pricing queries in a timely manner and ensure the customer is well informed about their query progression delivering query resolution when required
• Monitoring the performance of the sales team by setting and reviewing sales targets
• Recruiting and training sales staff and ensuring the department is appropriately resourced to deal with fluctuations in sales volumes.
• You will be expected to build a comprehensive knowledge of the entire product range.
• Determine the requirements of jobs/clients and specify the relevant products meeting those requirements.
• Communicate with the technical team to provide relevant details and calculations as required by the client/customer.
• Report monthly on the progress of new, potential, and existing leads.
• Liaise with marketing to ensure the correct regional approach to promote all products.
• Provide accurate forecasting information to Managing Director

The Candidate

In order to succeed in this role, you will also be required to demonstrate the following:

• Senior B2B solution/service sales and business development experience
• A proven track record in the construction products sector, ideally selling via the end-user route to market
• Tangible track record of driving the top line sales growth, improving results month by month.
• Pro-active approach to networking within business communities to generate new leads.
• Proven ability to develop, manage, track, and close sales and pipeline opportunities.
• Flexible and broadminded with a “can-do” attitude, possessing a disciplined approach to business development.
• Motivated, self-reliant, ambitious, and looking to join a team with significant growth aspirations.
• Ability to motivate and drive sales teams, whilst ensuring they have the right resources and are trained properly.
• Monitor and measure performance through accurate and timely reports.
• Professional and clear communication skills coupled with the ability to network at a high level and build strong business relationships.
