Macildowie are delighted to be supporting South Kesteven District Council in recruiting for a Senior Assets Officer to play a key role in managing the Authority’s property portfolio.

This key role will lead a team in supporting the delivery of the council’s corporate objectives and maximising revenue from the Council’s assets.

Reporting into the Property Services Manager, the key duties and responsibilities will include;

• Managing a team of property officers whose main responsibilities include Mechanical and Electrical management and maintenance, planned and reactive maintenance, parks and open space inspections and compliance
• Supporting the production of property records for Asset Management purposes and ensure that accurate records are held on the Asset Management system.
• Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met in terms of property, assets and health and safety
• Support the budget management process for areas of responsibility
• To support the management of capital projects in relation to property including the procurement of contractors and contract management
• To provide data, reports and analytics in respect of property compliance
• Work with internal stakeholders and contractors to continually improve and develop asset management and maintenance
• Manage and monitor the annual maintenance and service contracts by holding regular contractor meetings.
• Prepare tender documentation and specifications for works to commercial properties.
• Prepare Health and Safety Plans and administer CDM regulations including ensuring that all information is provided to the CDM Coordinator for the Health and Safety File.
• Organise contractors’ work and liaise with owners/tenants and other statutory authorities.
• Supervise construction works, ensure adherence to specifications, quality, and technical standards.
• Monitor progress of projects and costs against budgets and provide update reports.
• Prepare and compile accurate site records.
• Ensure consistency and standardisation of project management process, design and specifications and quality.
• Investigate defects in buildings, identify probable causes and prepare reports for consideration of funding including defects identification, diagnosis, and remedial works.
• Prepare schedules of dilapidations and associated costs
• Prepare repair specifications involving traditional and innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management and be able to lead, direct and motivate a team to achieve the authority’s objectives. You can demonstrate a clear knowledge of property and asset management and be able to manage relationships with external contractors and stakeholders accordingly.

South Kesteven offer a flexible working pattern of 60/40 with employees expected to be in the office for two days per week in their Grantham offices. Successful candidates will be offered a salary up to £35,811 plus access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (23%), attractive holidays and benefits package.
